Since 2018, the wonderful Pranic Healing for HOPE supporters have been providing incredible funding for a variety of HOPE programmes in Kolkata.
Pranic Healing for HOPE are a wonderful example of sustained commitment, passion, support, and fundraising. To date, since 2018, Pranic Healing for HOPE have raised a phenomenal €342,352 for HOPE’s projects in Kolkata.
Their commitment to HOPE’s PBK Residential Care Centre, and Night Round programme is simply amazing. This group has also provided incredible support during Covid – paying for the costs of 5 cardiac monitors during this emergency period.
Pranic Healing for HOPE is also responsible for identifying many child sponsors for HOPE – and continues to increase the number of children who are sponsored in Kolkata via this programme.
They have always been innovative and exciting when it comes to fundraising activities and events and have provided items for auction and raffle over the years.
This tremendous group of supporters not only raises astonishing amounts of funding for HOPE, they also consistently raise awareness amongst the wider Pranic Healing community and beyond – and thus they are the voice of our street connected children and slum dwelling communities in Kolkata.

We are deeply grateful to announce that HOPE USA has received donations totaling $37,000 over the last two years from our wonderful friends at Love for Humanity!
This incredible gift will directly support the Prerona Residential Child Care Programme (PBK) in Kolkata, India — a safe home and nurturing space for 17 amazing girls aged 6–18. These girls come from the red-light area of Kalighat and are daughters or relatives of sex workers who face deep social and economic marginalization.
Through Prerona, they receive:
- A safe and loving home
- Access to healthcare and education
- Vocational training and counselling
- Recreational opportunities to simply be children again
The programme also reaches beyond the home — empowering families to access government benefits, offering counselling, and strengthening family bonds.
Thanks to love4humanity’s generosity, these girls can continue to grow, learn, and dream in a secure environment. We’ll be sharing updates from the programme in the coming months so you can see the direct impact of your kindness. 💕

A Home of HOPE for the Children of Kolkata
PBK Residential Child Care Centre was established as a residential child care centre to protect the childhoods and rights of girls living in the red-light area of Kolkata.
Your donations to Pranic Healing for HOPE ensures that vulnerable children are supported with the necessary care for their development, and the restoration of their lost childhoods. These daughters of sex workers are stigmatized, under-privileged and marginalized in terms of social, political, and economic status within India.
The Pranic Healing for HOPE family and supporters are passionate about this very special cause and have committed to fund this project on an annual basis.

HOPE Healthcare for the Street Community
Night Round Mobile Medical Programme
HOPE’s Night Round Mobile Medical Programme was established in 2017 to provide primary health care services to the street connected and slum dwelling communities in Kolkata. This service is provided late into the night when vulnerabilities among street-connected communities increases. Our dedicated team comprising of a doctor, nurse, social worker and pharmacist provide the most vulnerable children and adults with primary health care. This is a vital service providing not only emergency health care and diagnoses at night, but also free medicine to those who need it the most.
Pranic Healing for HOPE have committed again for this year (2024-2025) to fundraise the €15,000 required to fund the Night Round Mobile Medical Programme for the year. We are delighted to announce that they have reached their target!
Pranic Healing for HOPE is delighted to announce that they are extending their funding support to HOPE by financing the below two important programmes in Kolkata
Mobile Dental Programme
Pranic Healing for HOPE, has generously committed to provide funding to the value of €4,000 for HOPE’s vital Mobile Dental Programme .
Inaugurated in May 2023, HOPE’s mobile dental ambulance is a community outreach programme based out of HOPE Hospital in Kolkata. This unique mobile dental facility offers services including dental check-ups, scaling, tooth extraction and fillings to underserved communities who would otherwise be unable to access essential dental care services. Last year almost 7,000 children and adults availed of this vital outreach medical service.
Punorjibon Residential Child Care Centre for Boys
Pranic Healing for HOPE is very excited to announce that they are funding Punorjiban Residential Child Care Centre for Boys to the value of €4,000 this year.
Translated as ‘new beginnings’, was established in 2005 to cater for a unique and highly vulnerable group of 25 boys with addiction, providing exactly what the name suggests: a second chance and new opportunities.
Many of the boys have been abandoned, victims of abuse, neglect and domestic violence, or have grown up in abject poverty in rural West Bengal. Before the boys enter Punorjiban, they undergo a detoxification programme with counselling. This support continues when they enter Punorjiban, while the boys are also provided with educational or vocational support, healthcare, nutrition and a loving and caring environment to restore their lost childhoods and, most importantly, empower them to become independent, happy and successful young men.
The boys engage in activities such as football, karate, dance, and photography for recreation and to instil the importance of teamwork. The boys are placed in Punorjiban as per the order of the local Kolkata Child Welfare Committee.
Pranic Healing for HOPE is also very keen to support HOPE HOSPITAL in Kolkata and is exploring opportunities to fund raise for same. HOPE Hospital was established in 2007, and it is a vital medical in patient and out patient service for vulnerable individuals in Kolkata –children and adults who otherwise would have no access to healthcare. In 2025 alone, almost 17,000 underprivileged people benefitted from HOPE Hospital via a variety of vital in patient and out patient facilities.
Child Sponsorship
Since 2018, Pranic Healing for HOPE supporters have sponsored 25 children in HOPE’s Education Sponsorship Programme.
By sponsoring a child with HOPE, you can make a lasting difference to the future of a child and their family. Through the programme, HOPE supports children from pre-school right through to third level. Education Sponsorship covers schoolbooks, uniforms, fees and after school coaching if needed.
Sponsorship costs only €23 per month, or €265 for a full year. That works out at just €5.75 per week. Please note that payment renewals are processed automatically. Additional programme funding provided by Pranic Healing for HOPE
Pranic Healing for HOPE also raised substantial funds for HOPE’s COVID-19 Emergency Response campaign throughout the pandemic – providing for example, funds to cover the cost of purchasing 5 cardiac monitors for use in HOPE Hospital in Kolkata.
During the emergency appeal the group also raised funds to support HOPE’s Emergency Food Distribution programme, which provided essential life-saving support to thousands of vulnerable families and individuals during lockdown.
PBK Residential Child Care Centre for Girls – Update on activities for last year
- During the year 35 girls were under the protective shelter of PBK Residential Child Care Centre and were supported with nutrition, education, healthcare, recreation activities, English language and computer training, in a loving “home from home “environment”, with the wonderful staff of PBK.
- 4 girls have been reunited with their families – and they continue to be supported to ensure that they are reintegrating well.
- 13 girls received medical treatment for various illnesses.
- 20 families have received extensive counselling and training support to improve their knowledge of child rearing practices and ways to protect the rights of children.
- 19 girls were enrolled in school after being placed in PBK.
- 12 girls have been promoted to their next level of education (class).
- 10 girls with special needs and learning difficulties were provided with special education support.
- 66 home visits were conducted to meet the girls’ families to create awareness among the parents on caring for their daughters
- 10 families have been successfully linked with local Social Welfare Schemes to improve their socio-economic conditions.
- 272 individual counselling, 113 group counselling and 35 therapy sessions were conducted for 35 identified
children. - 14 girls engaged in sports activities such as badminton, khoko and kabaddi.
Night Round Medical Unit – Summary update for last year
- 10,098 children and adults received primary healthcare support from the night round medical unit.
- 158 patients were rescued from the street and received treatment from Hope Hospital
- 242 persons received wound dressing and medicine free of cost to heal their wounds
- 9 HIV awareness camps organised
- 6 Dengue awareness camps organised.
- 4 health & hygiene awareness camps organised.
- 7 early marriage awareness camps organised.
- 4 awareness camps to prevent consumption of tobacco were organised.
- 2 malaria awareness camps organised.
